Imagine a place where you could have fun, you could stay close to nature and nature remains the focus! A place or park that continues to evolve into an ecological wonder to behold. With even constructed landscapes that provide educational opportunities for studying geology and other natural sciences. With several ecologically diverse plant life and features, including large indigenous trees, interpretative walking trails, and many, many species of trees and flowers.
ECO Park Dhanaulti as I discovered to my enchantment – contains magic. It is the main attraction of Dhanaulti. A visit to the Dhanolti Eco Park is a must for everyone. Here, you can try your hands at Horse Riding, Burma Bridge, Nature Walks and Picnicking at the Eco Park with your family and friends. An excellent place to be with nature.
Eco Park Dhanaulti has been developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand with the help of local youth. The trails and activity area abounds with the use of native plants all with name plates to encourage plant awareness and education. The walk trek and fitness trails wend their way through a wide variety of habitat types-forest, meadow, pond, wetland, thicket, stream and hillside. About 60 local youth, both male and females are employed as Guides, Gardeners, Service providers, Ticket Collectors, Information Providers etc. It houses a protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees. There is an entry fee of Rs 20 For Adults and Rs 10 for Children.
Set within lush alpine forests of Pine, Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak you are bound to feel totally relaxed at Dhanaulti’s peaceful laid-back environment. Dhanaulti may not have been a popular tourist destination but it is a charming retreat just 300 or so kilometers from Delhi. It is fast emerging as a leisure destination for those seeking a quiet weekend away from the maddening crowds of big cities.
As monsoon set and cool breeze brushes across your faces – one of the most intriguing sights is conjured by the clouds while you travel here.
They are an intrinsic part of your overall experience in Dhanaulti. The seclusion witnessed in the pristine environs almost becomes a brotherhood …something to cherish and treasure.
The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation. The Forest Department also runs Eco-huts for the tourists to come and enjoy serene landscapes of Dhanaulti. These are built by green technology and are eco-friendly. Here they have a few of the amazing activities, that help make the Eco Park a special place.
Well nothing and everything. That is to say that except reveling at the wonders of nature capturing a few frames to reminisce and visiting the Eco Park in Dhanaulti and rejoicing in the fact that it is good to be alive then and there.
We also treated our taste buds to the heavenly delights by the road side. Maggi, Tea, Roasted Corn and more tea.
It is that somewhere along the way during your detours to explore the infinity of this universe you kind of rediscover yourself. I give away nothing and I take away moments in which to rejoice for a lifetime, a most beckoning and divine experience as always is in the case when you are footloose in Himalayas.
“Life is not the amount of breaths you take; it’s the moments that take your breath away” That was marked.
